唉,看到这封信我又伤感了,恍若昨日,一切那么令人怀念
January 5, 2012
Dear Principal Clark and Assistant Principal Robinson,
Happy holiday! I hope this email finds you well.
I’m Zoe (Ziyu Liu)’s mother. Zoe is in the second grade, Ms. Ellis' class. I am writing this letter to inform you, in advance, of our plans to leave the United States and return to Shanghai, China in this coming March, 2012. My husband, Guangming Liu and I, would like to express our sincere gratitude to you and all of your associates at the Skinner School, especially Mrs. Staral and Ms. Ellis, for all of your help during our stay in Chicago.
Because of our decision to return to Shanghai, and additional travel plans which are currently being finalized, Zoe will be absent from her class for some days during the months of January, February, and March. As to the specific days Zoe will be absent, we will inform Ms. Ellis as soon as our travel schedule is finalized.
Time flies! I can’t believe that we have already stayed in Chicago for almost one and a half years, and Zoe had her fantastic school life for three semesters! At Skinner School, she made many friends, received much LOVE from teachers and classmates, and made pretty good progress in her studies. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you. Thank you for your great assistance, kindness, and guidance during those days. I remember the first day of school on Sep. 7 of 2010, when we were so panicky as newcomers, and you welcomed us with your sincere warm greeting and encouragement. It was because of your encouragement and kindness that Zoe quickly adapted to the school life in America and made progress.
Please let me know if there is any paper work that you need me to complete regarding this transition. We would like to request an academic file on Zoe summarizing her attendance, progress and standard test results while attending Skinner School if this is available. I will follow up with you regarding this request. Please contact me at 312-823-3110, at any time if there is anything I can to assist here.
Last but not least, I wish you a healthy and prosperous year! Thank you again.
Best regards,
