电影“Mr. Destiny”

Destiny is a very complicated thing. Every incident in a person’s life affects everything else that follows it.

When that moment is changed, everything in your life changes along with it.

“Have you ever been faced with a decision and you were not sure what you wanted to do?”
“Sure, plenty of times.”
“Then something inside you makes you choose one direction over the other.”
“So?”
“So that’s me. I make the suggestions and you make the choices. That’s how destiny works, Larry, very subtly.”

The motion picture "Cars" is simply terrific, definitely one of the best these years. It deserves an Oscar next year.

Here are some lines from the movie:

Life is a highway. It used to be the case that "cars did not drive on it to make a great time. They drove on it to have a great time".

"It's kind of nice to slow down every once in a while."

-"How could a car like you quit at the top of your game?"

Just when I thought "Cars" was good enough to win Oscar next year, I think we've got an even stronger candidate for the best Animated Motion Picture award for next Oscar, The Ant Bully.   Produced by Tom Hanks and voices acted by Julia Roberts and Nicolas Cage, The Ant Bully is truely a great animated film, in every sense. In particular, the theme is so profound. Maybe we humans do need to learn from the ants to make our life much better. After all, we are nothing but a bunch of social animals.

Below are some lines that I like very much:

Lucas (the ant bully) - "What you are gonna do about it, ants? Nothing. Cause I am big and you're small!"

Ant Head of Council - “To attack without provocation, without reason, just because they can, it’s barbaric.” [It made me think of how US bullied Iraq. This sounds like something Saddam would say to the Iraqi people]

Lucas (the ant bully who gets shrunk down to insect size) - “It’s funny. The sky looks exactly the same. Everything else is so different, but it’s the same sky, same stars.” [Yeah, we are living under the same sky and yet people can be so different.]

…

Zoc (a wizard ant)- “So, this city of yours, it’s like a nest?

Lucas -“Yeah, kind of. ”

-“And the humans that live there are all brothers working together for the greatness of their colony?”

-“Well, not exactly. It’s a little more like, you know, every man for himself. ”

-“But that’s so primitive. How is anything get done?”

-“Some people work together.”

-“Some, why not all?”

-“I suppose it’s because of their differences.”

-“But it’s the differences that make a colony strong. Foragers, scouters, nurses….all are different but an essential part of the whole. This is where we ants draw our strength.”

“My differences just get me beat up.”

“Why is that?”

“I don’t know. Some humans prefer to clubber people they don’t understand.”

“Like you prefer to clubber ants. ”

“I guess I did not think about what I was doing. Seems sad but…”

前几天看新结婚时代时剧中有段台词让我感触很深：“你嫁给了他，就等于嫁给了他全部社会关系的总和。你们俩的结合就是两个家庭的结合，他娶了你，就等于娶了你的一切，包括你的社会关系、你的父母……”确实，婚姻是需要“门当户对”的。不是说物质上，而是说两个人的价值观和生活方式基本上要一致。

好巧，我也看了《新结婚时代》，是我男朋友推荐的，因为他觉得跟我们很像。他家是农村的，我家是城市的，很多出现的矛盾都不谋而合。 看完之后，启发还是蛮大的。还好，结局不错，大团圆！

结局不错那是因为编剧手下留情了，真正的现实生活中就没那么容易不错了……
